Bonewrack_Isle.jpg

The Man’s Promise has been holed on the edges of a coral reef surrounding a small tropical island, called Bonewrack Isle during a storm. Early in the morning, Captain Orog calls the roll of the crew, and two of the ship’s sailors are discovered to be missing. One of the missing crew members is Sandara Quinn. The other is Rosie Cusswell.

Captain Orog and his closest friends determine the damage to the ship. With available supplies on board the Man’s Promise, it was determined that the ship could be repaired in about two days.

Meanwhile, Captain Orog, Marlin, Bodwin, and Ripley decide to search for the missing Sandara and Rosie. Captain Orog had Ukalla remain behind as acting captain to supervise repairs on the ship as well as send a group to search for drinkable water after it was discovered that the remaining barrels of water on board had been destroyed during the storm.

**

Orog, Marlin, Bodwin, and Ripley rowed a small boat to shore and began their search for their missing shipmates.

As they landed on the beach, they spotted a path through the jungle past the beach. Rocky cliffs surrounded the beach.

Suddenly three giant sand crabs appeared and scuttled towards all four just as they were hauling the boat onto the beach.

The four drew weapons and prepared spells, ready to defend themselves against the giant crabs.

In under a minute the fight against the giant crab was over, but not without most of the crew taking some damage. Not wanting to rest for too long, they decided to use healing potions.

They also collected the remains of the two crabs they killed and placed them in the boat to take back to the ship when they returned. Ukalla had asked them to search for fresh meat and about a dozen coconuts which grew at the top of the trees. He said he could use the milk from the coconut in preparing meals for the crew. Fresh meat was also necessary since what little was aboard the ship had gone bad.

After catching their breaths, the four made their way down the path and into the jungle hoping to find their shipmates as quickly as possible.

Ghouls invade the town of Sandpoint, killing many. The Heroes of Sandpoint do all they can to save the citizens of their beloved town. Iris is horrified to find her parents transformed into ghasts.

Leaving the safety of the Rusty Dragon Inn, the Heroes of Sandpoint went to help anyone who needed it.

As soon as they stepped out of the inn, they spotted four women running from a pack of ghouls.

Syn and Iris recognized the women from the Pixie’s Kitten, the town brothel. Syn immediately ran to help the women as the other heroes prepared themselves for battle.

In short the ghouls were slain. The four ‘kittens’ were able to escape and even promised Syn to properly thank him at some later time.

Unfortunately, Nagatono was hurt during the fight.

Hearing pleas for help, the heroes made their way down the street towards the cathedral, despite Nagatono’s injuries.

Down Festival Street, a young couple were frantically calling for help as the heroes arrived. Everyone recognized the two as Ghary and Cecely Greisser who had two children, a boy named Jaycob and a daughter named Elsa.

Upon spotting the heroes the couple begged them to help their children who were trapped in the basement of their house along with several ghouls.

When the heroes entered the basement, they saw six ghouls trying to break into a large barrel. Inside the barrel, they could hear the two children screaming.

Clan who was the first to enter the basement, yelled to get the ghouls’ attention. All but one ghoul rushed to attack Clan who was quickly joined by the others.

Despite slaying all of the ghouls, the heroes had sustained injuries during the fight. Not having any healing potions, the group continued on after making sure the Greisser family was safe. Clan even asked Jaycob, who about twelve years old, if he would be interested in becoming a smith’s apprentice. Jaycob, who idolized Clan, was extremely grateful and agreed.

As the heroes made their way farther into town, they began seeing the carnage left behind by the ghouls. Dead bodies littered the streets, while more screams and pleas for help could be heard across town.

Another cry for help stole the heroes attention from the remains of a guard from Magnimar lying on a deserted street.

The heroes all prayed they wouldn’t meet a similar gruesome fate.

At the corner of Raven Street, they saw Nisk Tander, the owner of the Bottled Solutions, trying desperately to get the heroes’ attention.

“There’s four of them, I think,” Nisk stammered in fear. “They’re tearing my shop apart. Please help!”

The group promised to help the shop owner in return for free healing potions. Nisk reluctantly agreed.

When the group entered the Bottled Solutions they were surprised by two ghouls who were later joined by two more.

To Iris’s horror, she immediately recognized the two new ghouls who had joined the fight. She had heard from Sheriff Hemlock that there were reports of the outlying farms being attacked by ghouls. But she never thought her own parents were in danger.

“Daughter dear,” one of the foul undead hissed. “Mother and Father are here.”

The foul stench from the new ghouls was overpowering, making those who couldn’t resist the effects of the stench sick.

The other, Iris recognized as once having been her father said, “Let’s be a family, Iris, and serve His Lordship.”

“Who is he?” Iris screamed. Tears filled her eyes. “Tell me!”

“They are no longer your parents,” Syn said.

Clan stepped up to attack the four undead. But the battle against the more powerful ghouls who were once Iris’s parents proved to be too much.

At one point, Iris’s mother attacked her. It’s foul attack even caused Iris to be paralyzed.

Completely out of spells and wounded from the last two encounters, the group decided to escape. Clan had to carry Iris out into the street.

Fortunately, the ghouls in shop did not pursue them.

The group decided to seek healing from Father Zantus and Medik at Sandpoint Cathedral. But on the way, they heard guards calling to them from the Sandpoint Town Hall.

They ran as fast as they could and entered the hall. The guards closed the doors behind them and barricaded the doors.

Inside the town hall was full of people. About five town guards stood by windows and doors, prepared for any possible attack.

The guards warned about how dangerous it was at the cathedral. It seemed a large pack of ghouls was attacking the cathedral were many of the town folks had barricaded themselves inside.

But as the guards were decided what to do next, some of the people began blaming Clan for the attack on Sandpoint.

They said they had heard about how Clan’s name was found on the notes left at the murdered victims.

The heroes couldn’t believe what they were hearing and tried to defend Clan citing his role in investigating the murders and defending Sandpoint earlier.

Although most of the town’s folks were swayed, many were unmoved and continued to blame Clan for what was happening.

Tired and hurt, the Heroes of Sandpoint remained inside the safety of the Town Hall while screams of the dying and pleas for help outside haunted them throughout the night.

For Iris, the sight of her parents becoming the things she was fighting against haunted her even more.

Town_at_night.jpg

A mysterious killer is at large in Sandpoint while the town’s sheriff attempts to keep the town from relapsing into the panic that gripped them years ago when another murderer, a man named Chopper, menaced the town.

The Heroes of Sandpoint are called upon to investigate the murders. Their investigations lead them to the Sawmill where they find the remains of Banny Harker, a penny pinching mill operator. They also found the mangled remains of Katrine Vinder. Further investigations showed that something had swum across the water east of the sawmill, climbed onto the second floor and attacked the two while they were in the middle of their tryst. Whatever killed them carved a seven-pointed star into Banny Harker’s chest.

The only lead they had according to Sheriff Hemlock was Ibor Thorn, a friend of Banny. They questioned him along with Ven Vinder, who like Ibor was being kept in the garrison prison. Ven went into a fit of rage after hearing of his daughter’s death, so the sheriff locked him up for Ven’s own safety.

Sheriff Hemlock explained that two days prior, a man named Grayst Sevilla, a local Varisian thug, was captured along the Lost Coast Road after he had assaulted a patrol of guards. The guards had found the mutilated bodies of Tatch Mortwell, Lener Hask, and Godwin Tabe. The four were known to be local troublemakers so Hemlock wasn’t surprised to learn of their death. Hemlock suspects the murders may be related somehow. However, questioning Grayst proved fruitless since he had completely gone insane after apparently witnessing the vicious murders of his three companions. Hemlock had Grayst taken to Habe’s Sanatorium

Sheriff Hemlock provided the heroes with a letter of introduction to visit Grayst at the sanotorium and ask him what he knows.

**

Arriving at Habe’s Sanatorium, the group finds it strangely deserted.

They entered and were attacked by two ghouls who were dressed as orderlies. They came upon iron doors with patients locked inside cells. One in particular, Pidget Tergelson, begged for the party to free him, but they couldn’t break through the iron door.

Continuing on, they came upon a strange room filled with tools seemingly used more for torture than for any medical means.

After the group left Magnimar early in the morning to return to Sandpoint, they ran into Nualia, Lyrie, and the mercenary Orik on the Lost Coast Road. The three have recently escaped from Thistletop and were headed to Magnimar.

Having left Magnimar after buying some much needed trail rations, the Heroes of Sandpoint rode back home. .

Midway to Sandpoint, the group came upon three travelers along the Lost Coast Road. Two of them, armed with bows, were pointing them at the group and their horses. The group discovers the trio are Nualia, Lyrie, and Orikhave who have recently escaped Thistletop after an adventuring party attacked it.

The three from Thistletop tried to take the horses by force. A battle ensued in which Nagatono and Kyrios were severely wounded. In the end, Orik was captured but Lyrie and Nualia escaped. Nualia managed to steal Syn’s horse then rode fast in the direction of Magnimar.

The group continued on to Sandpoint along with the prisoner, Orik.
